Allison A Reformer in 143rd House Race

by: John Morgan

Mon Jun 09, 2008 at 10:23:04 AM EDT

I met Diane Allison at a pig roast last Sunday outside Dublin, a suburb of Doylestown.  Knowing many people in the 143rd Legislative District I was invited to come and meet the candidate and hear David Sirota talk about his new book.  Congressman Patrick Murphy also spoke (see my article about the event)

I had a chance to speak with the candidate and found her refreshing.  She is a serious reformer and "gets" what is wrong with Harrisburg.  She understands we need to change campaign finance laws, break the lobbyist control of the Capitol and open legislative funding to sunshine and control by the people instead of hacks.

John Morgan :: Allison A Reformer in 143rd House Race
A committed environmentalist, school board director, and advocate for serious health care reform, she has the community record to back her up.  This candidate walks the walk and has done so as a birder, recycler, community volunteer, wife and mother.  Diane has served her community on the Palisades School Board, Tinicum Township Recycling Coordinator, the Tinicum Township Environmental Advisory Council, a volunteer driver for meals on Wheels, and various other boards and organizations.

A graduate of Delaware Valley College in nearby Doylestown, and then off and on in the corporate world while raising her children.  She is concentrating her candidacy on several issues:  education, reform, health care and the environment.

Margarite Quinn won this seat in a hotly contested race two years when she falsely accused her challenger of being a dognapper.  People who choose to sink into the gutter that deeply don't deserve to be in Harrisburg where the muck and mire are constant.  We need someone from the 143rd to go there and clean the mess not revel in it.
