Congress’ UnAmerican Detention Bill

1984 is headed our way if a bit late.  Already living in a surveillance state where we are on camera everywhere we go and where we readily surrender all of our privacy in exchange for a few cents off purchases, we are now ready to allow our government to violate ALL of our civil rights.  The National Defense Authorization Act would allow the feds to arrest and detain anyone and detain them indefinitely under the guise of terrorism.

Of course one person’s terrorist is another’s freedom fighter.  What if some official decided all of the Occupy protesters are terrorists?  They could do this very easily and all of them would be rounded up and shipped to Gitmo or some other unknown destination…indefinitely and without trial.

First, the committee’s proposal accepts prosecutors as the arbiters of guilt. We have courts in America to check executive power.  Impartial judges limit over whom the state may exercise its coercive power to deny freedom.

Or consider this analysis:

A provision of S. 1867, or the National Defense Authorization Act bill, written by Senators John McCain and Carl Levin, declares American soil a battlefield and allows the President and all future Chief Executives to order the military to arrest and detain American citizens, innocent or not, without charge or trial. In other words, if this bill passes and the President signs it, OWS protesters or any American could end up arrested and indefinitely locked up by the military without the guaranteed right to due process or a speedy trial.

The bill was drafted in secret without any public hearings.  It would, essentially, establish a police state and turn us into Amerika.  Why did we fight the Cold War for forty years just to turn around and become the Soviet Union?

  1. …it will be the duty of every truly Patriotic America to absolutely overthrow the government of the United States as being a rogue state that has violated and no longer holds true to its oathes of office, its Constitution, and precisely what our founders fought for in the first place.

I am not kidding, revolution at that point will likely be the only answer.

When any government official even considers such a move and has the fucking balls to call themselves a proud American after writing such a law or supporting it in any real way, they become completely incapable of ever holding another elected office and should be targeted for immediate election removal and put under the media broiler for even thinking that such a law was somehow a good idea.

There’s too many bastards who have too many petty axes to grind in America to trust that this law wouldn’t be absolutely perverted for some godforsaken political purpose and to some evil/sinister end.

Mr. President, if you sign that law into print, I will do everything I can to see that you are voted out of office and not given a 2nd term or a term in any other elected office, period.  Folks, we cannot keep on being lazy, indifferent, apathetic, or carefree about our voting, about our role as citizens anymore.  It is freaking scary when people who we voted for think that laws like the National Defense Authorization Act are even necessary to begin with but also have no problem labeling our own land a battlefield.  Well, if its a battle they want, then I guess we get to have open season.  Do you really want to up the ante to that level of stupid people of Congress, Mr. President?

The mob must be feeling kinda small these days, in the face of the legalized racketeering going on in the daily world of Congress and what the President allows to happen on his watch around the country, Capone would be giddy beyond belief as such unbridled power and control.  It’s kinda bad when your federal government has truly more in common with organized fucking crime than legitimate governing and working for the public, the whole public, of real people, not legalized corporate “people”.
